I typically try to keep my politics separate from pretty much every facet of my life; my little blog, my friendships, family, etc. but after this week I no longer feel like that’s an option. (Spoiler Alert: I voted blue.)

I pride myself on honesty, and Tuesday night after about 10pm AK time I started sobbing. The next 24 hours was filled with almost constant crying. I was crying for myself, my friends, my family, and even strangers whose lives have been rocked by this week. My heart was breaking for friends and family who felt betrayed by their fellow voting citizens.

I won’t make this very long, but I do want to make a point very clear. Where I stand on the issues. This blog is a safe place for anyone, but I will not tolerate: bullying, hate speech, or violent rhetoric.

I believe in:

  • LGBTQIA+ rights and liberties
  • Women’s rights and liberties
  • ProCHOICE
  • Commonsense gun laws
  • Affordable Healthcare
  • Disability rights
  • Human rights
  • Pro-Diversity
  • Pro-Science (ie. climate change and vaccines matter!)
  • Supporting POC
  • Religious Freedom

I am a safe space – if you are feeling alienated, betrayed or let down by friends and family. I hope I can be your friend in the darkness. I hope that I can make you feel a tiny bit less alone.

We have some dark times ahead of us, and a lot of uncertainty. At the end of the day I will stand with you in the darkness, until we see the light again.

I may be a little blue dot in a red state, but I know I am not alone.

Sincerely,
Brianna
